Reasons to Use Union Labor
Union Teamsters, Carpenters, and Glaziers represent professional trades in New York City. They’re dedicated to improving members’ workplaces by ensuring fair pay, safe conditions, and quality benefits. Certified’s relationship with local unions all over the country, combined with our labor management skills and logistics coordination abilities, have allowed us the opportunities to work on some of the largest and most technical projects, nationwide. For years, Certified has had strong affiliations and signed agreements with multiple local unions, allowing our team to meet labor demands and provide the best commercial relocation and installation services for our clients.
Training
All personnel, being of union affiliations, undergo a rigorous training program outlining safety procedures in the proper way to lift, carry, prepare, move and place all furniture products, boxes, crates and miscellaneous client related items. This ensures the safety of all personnel involved in the project. We’re proud to say all of our workforce has had formal quality training, and continuously use incentives such as bonus programs, semi-annual reviews, and evaluations to ensure quality services.
Budgeting
Certified’s union employees are more experienced and able to more efficiently and effectively handle your project. That corresponds to the interfacing with your own personnel on a daily basis during the move period, and bringing a project in under budget and on time.
Client Satisfaction
Being a union organization, all of Certified’s employees provide courteous, effective, efficient and expeditious service at all times. Through providing a training program that instructs all personnel in the proper handling of all products being installed or relocated, we provide better service and response time to all our clients and insure complete satisfaction.
Trade Harmony
Some building owners require union personnel due to other projects happening in the building at the time of your relocation or installation. Buildings can also be owned by union investment funds, or may have union construction, all which may require union labor in order to assure trade harmony.
Safe Working Conditions
Nearly half of union workers hold OSHA-10 Construction Safety Certifications, and many foreman and stewards are OSHA -30 certified. These two programs teach workers how to recognize and avoid common job-related hazards. Many union workers also have high-level security clearance, including access cards from the Secure Worker Access Consortium (SWAC), meaning you can rest assured your project handled injury-free, safely, and productively.
